Introducing the Critter Sprayer

A new use for the Critter Sprayer - after basecoating your project, and applying a coat of weathered wood, use the sprayer to apply the coat of paint on top of the weathered wood. If you mix equal parts of paint + water, pour into the sprayer jar and spray this onto the weathered wood, you will get a beautiful crackled finish without stripes or ridges! This will be a great time saver for furniture pieces, candle holders or any large piece that you want to crackle.

This economical sprayer lets you varnish and basecoat in half the time. The sprayer attaches to a 3/4 HP or larger compressor (not included - see picture below : Craftsman 2 hp UMC hand held compressor). It sprays from 10-90 PSI and consumes 2-3 cfm at 90 PSI.

The varnish or basecoat mixture is drawn from a 16 ounce mason jar that comes with the sprayer. This jar can also serve as a storage container when the project is finished. Clean up is quick and easy. The cleaning tool keeps the sprayer working like new. Only air runs through the body of the spray gun, so you only need to clean the siphon tube and liquid nozzle. This is done by spraying water through the gun from another mason jar. Instructions are included. The sprayer is ideal for decorative painters and instructors. You can basecoat and varnish without leaving any brush strokes. You can mix sealer with the paint and basecoat and seal the wood in a single step. It is ideal for woodworking and furniture projects that require many coats of varnish. You can stain wood and apply Danish oil to finished surfaces as well.

HOW TO CREATE A LACE DOILY USING THE CRITTER SPRAYER
Spray hair spray on underneath side of doily. Press onto wooden plate that has been painted in white. Pour one bottle of Silver Sage green paint (to create the doily pictured) in jar of Critter sprayer, fill the empty bottle with water, shake well, pour into sprayer jar. Stir. Spray the plate and doily one time. Dry. Remove doily. The back of the plate has two coats of paint sprayed on it.

The cost of the sprayer is $51.95 (includes the cleaning tool), plus shipping and handling fee. Please call for shipping and handling exact price. Due to changes in the way the postal system is charging for shipping packages, there is no longer a fixed rate for shipping the sprayer. Rates are now determined by the zone you live in. I check the US postal website to determine the fees for mailing the package; this is done once I have your zip code. Approximate mailing cost is $6.50- $9.50 depending on where you live. The sprayer is mailed to you Priority mail/ insured.

A word from our satisfied customers:

I received my Critter Sprayer in one day, thanks for the quick shipping. Oh where to start, this little puppy is AWESOME!! How did I ever survive without it. So easy to use and clean. The coats are nice and smooth. I was able to basecoat a whole table full of wooden signs in no time at all and used about a third of the amount of paint I would have used with a brush. This little guy is going to pay for itself in no time at all. I also used it on the metal that we were discusing on the phone, it worked great!!! I couldn't be happier with this product. Thanks so much for making this excellent piece of equiptment available to us. I'm going to tell all my friends

"Tried out my new Critter Sprayer today, it's fantastic. I breezed through 8 paper mache boxes in no time at all. Using 3 ounces of Jo Sonja's Oak Moss background paint I covered with 2 coats. I think if I had been using the Yellow or Warm White it would have taken 3 light coats. I don't even want to think how much paint this would have taken if I brushed it on and the time it would have taken to get it done. The paper mache did not bubble as it sometimes does if it gets too wet with paint. I was going to be messy with it cause I knew my hubby would take over and finish the project but it was so easy I just did it. We have another sprayer (old) that I refused to use because it was so difficult to clean. Tomorrow I plan on spraying the legs to an antique tilt table I'm working on and hope by mid next week I'll be trying this out with Jo Sonja's varnish. I have 30 plus paper mache boxes to paint for a chapter meeting project so I'm VERY happy the sprayer works so well and is so easy to use."

" I had purchased mine about 2 years ago at HOOT but never used it until a little bit ago - actually I didn't, but my painting contractor husband did. Now he is one to really turn up his nose at the "hobby" type equipment but I made him hook it up to a compressor and prep a special garage sale chid sized "love seat" that would have taken forever to prep otherwise. So he tried it and was actually impressed! (So much so that he says he is going to use it to touch up a sizable scrape I made on my car! LOL!) Anyhow, it is quite easy to use and the thing I like about it is that it is designed to hook to regular canning type pint jars so that you can store your paint or varnish in these jars and use them whenever you need to paint. One person said that she uses a turntable (like those Rubber Maid ones). She covers it with foil, puts her project on it and gives it a spin while varnishing her project. You can often find old lazy Susan's at garage sales that will serve the same purpose. If you prop your item up a little bit, the edge won't rest on the turntable surface and you won't get build-up or have to go back and touch up areas that didn't get the paint or varnish. If you have a piece with a definite inside and outside, paint the inside first and then turn the piece over and paint the outside (don't use the prop-up method for this!) - that way you can get the piece done all at once and won't have to wait for the outside to dry before doing the inside. Clean up is really easy - just use another pint jar with your solvent or soap and water and run the mixture through your nozzle. There is minimal over spray with this sprayer. You can make a spraying booth by cutting the side off a large cardboard box. You can set your turntable in the "U" shape that this makes. All the overspray stays in the box. You get a perfectly even coverage this way. Clean up is really easy - just use another pint jar with your solvent or soap and water and run the mixture through your nozzle. After it runs "clean", rinse with plain water. The compressor my husband has is a little large and noisy - but works fine. However, I hear that there is a small, quiet compressor at Sears that you can get for less than $100 - maybe that'll be on my Santa list for next year! :

"For the past fours years painting has been a passion. However, the drudgery or basecoating and the tediousness of varnishing are not my idea of "fun". The critter sprayer I recently purchased from you has put fun and ease into basecoating and varnishing techniques. It's easy to use and saves a lot of time. Also, the wire gauge cleaning tool quickly cleans the nozzle of any paint buildup. This keeps me spraying for hours! Any product that allows me more freedom and time to paint is a product I'd recommend to others."

"I just wanted to let you kow what a wonderful experience I had using the Critter 118 siphon gun for varnishing my painted pieces. Thanks to your advice, I can stain or varnish in a tenth of the time it used to take me with a brush. Plus, I don't have any streaks, runs or bubbles to worry about...this is fantastic!!! Also, the clean up is so easy. Thanks again for letting me know about the Critter."

"I was amazed at how simple and easy the Critter sprayer worked and the results were really fantastic! Spraying is so much quicker than brushing on varnish and you don't need to sand between coats. This marvelous little tool has saved me a lot of time on varnishing. If easy, quick and time saving varnishing appeals to you, then I highly recommend the Critter sprayer."
